Outdoor Lighting Installation in Etobicoke

Before you call anyone about outdoor lights, it helps to know which job you're asking for. Some outdoor lighting needs an electrician. Some just needs a careful install and an outlet you already have.

We install plug-in outdoor lighting on homes in Etobicoke: Govee permanent lights along rooflines, peaks, soffits, garages and corners, connected to an outdoor outlet you already have. We don't do hardwired work like new outlets, wall-mounted lights or wired landscape lighting. In Ontario, that's a job for a licensed electrician.

Below: the parts of a house we light, photos of our installs, the jobs that need an electrician instead, and how an install works.

What we light

Which parts of a house can you light?

Every edge you can see from the street, on one storey or three.

Rooflines and eaves

The long runs across the front and sides. This is where most installs start.

Peaks and gables

Both slopes of every peak. A front gable uses far more length than a flat run, so it's worth measuring.

Soffits

Lights tucked under the overhang instead of potlights cut into it. More on soffit lights.

Garages

Often the longest straight run on the front of the house, and the first thing people see from the driveway.

Vertical corners

Lights can run down a corner of the house as well as along the roofline. The orange install below has one.

Every level

Two-storey and split-level houses have rooflines at more than one height. All of them can be lit as one look.

Not our job

What outdoor lighting needs an electrician instead?

Anything that gets wired into the house. That includes:

  • A new or moved outdoor outlet
  • Wall lights and porch lights that are wired in
  • Potlights cut into the soffit
  • Landscape and pathway lighting that runs on a wired circuit
  • Anything on a new switch or a new circuit

Ontario's Electrical Safety Authority puts it plainly: "With limited exception, only Licenced Electrical Contractors are authorized to conduct electrical business in Ontario." We stick to plug-in lighting, and we'll tell you when a job needs an electrician first.

How it works

How does an outdoor lighting install work?

  1. Send us the details

Your street, which parts of the house you want lit, and which Govee kit you have or want.

  2. Your quote

We tell you what the job involves on your house before anything goes up.

  3. Install and setup

Lights mounted, cables tucked and your first scenes saved in the app.
