Diwali Lights in Etobicoke

Diwali is the Festival of Lights, and the house is part of the celebration. Every year that can mean strings, ladders and a weekend of work. Or the lights could already be up.

Permanent Diwali lights are Govee permanent outdoor lights mounted once along your roofline and set to festive colours in an app for Diwali: warm gold, bright multicolour, saffron, or a mix. After the festival they switch to warm white, or on to Christmas. There's nothing to hang each year and nothing to take down.

Below: which colours suit Diwali, when to install, and how the same lights carry on through the rest of the year.

Colours

Which colours suit Diwali?

Any of these, picked in the app, and changed as often as you like over the festival.

Warm gold

The glow of diyas along the whole roofline. Warm and traditional.

Bright multicolour

Every colour at once, like rangoli. Govee's lights can show several colours along one run.

Saffron and orange

Rich and festive, and it reads well from the street.

Orange

Two of our installs in warm white and orange. The colour is a setting in the app, so the same houses can run any Diwali scene.

Timing

When does Diwali fall, and when should I install?

Diwali follows the Hindu calendar, so the date moves each year, usually landing in October or November. That's late enough in the fall that the weather starts to matter.

The clips use adhesive tape that holds best on a clean, dry, warm surface, so plan the install a few weeks ahead rather than the week before. Once they're up, every Diwali after that is just a scene you pick in the app.

All year

Can the same lights do Diwali and Christmas?

Yes. They're the same lights with a different setting. Diwali in gold or multicolour, then warm white for the everyday, then red and green in December, without anyone climbing a ladder in between.

The biggest difference between Govee's two main kits is cutting. You can't cut the Permanent Outdoor Lights 2. You can cut the Pro, which comes in runs up to 200 ft, and to install it properly, we cut it to fit your roofline.
